The library at a glance

Levels reflect practice complexity — how many distractors and how much clinical density a case carries — not OET tiers. OET is a single B2-level exam; the levels just help you build from clean structure on simple cases to ruthless selection on dense ones.

Case Notes Library FAQ

What are OET case notes?
OET case notes are the structured patient summary you receive in the OET writing sub-test, followed by a writing instruction. They include patient details, presenting complaint, history, examination, investigations and a task — referral, discharge, transfer or advice. Your job is to write a 180 to 200 word letter using only the relevant information for the named recipient.
Are these OET case notes free to download as PDF?
Yes. Every case note in the library downloads as a free branded PDF with no sign-up. The optional complete library pack — all cases in one document — is available in exchange for an email so we can send a few genuinely useful OET writing tips.
Are these official OET case notes?
No. These are realistic 2026-style practice case notes written by Dr Mariam's OET writing team, who have marked over 11,000 letters since 2014. They mirror the real OET format and the six criteria in place since August 2018, but the official samples live on oet.com.
How should I use the case notes library?
Pick a case for your profession, write the letter under timed conditions using only the relevant notes, then check it. Each page shows what an examiner expects you to include and cut, and links to an annotated sample letter so you can compare your selection against a Grade B answer.
